Pippin is one happy cat!

Pippin is one happy cat!

Pippin (previously Poutine) has settled in just purrrfectly in our home. He is the chattiest cat I’ve ever met, and certainly lets you know that he doesn’t approve of closed doors. He loves to see everyone and be in the same room as you, and boy does he love chasing after toys! He is such a sweet and affectionate boy and seems to enjoy having all the space, attention, toys, and love we’re able to give. Pippin is a treasured member of our family and we so look forward to having him in our lives. Thank you, Ninth Life Cat Rescue!

Week 1 with Ed and Al, formerly Jarr and Earl

Our family has had all kinds of pets over the years, but after our family dog passed on four years ago, we couldn’t bear the quiet void any longer. After searching for the past year for the right fit, my dad found these little guys at the Burlington PetsMart with the intention of adopting only Jarr, but we couldn’t bear to separate these 7-month-old brothers! My sister adopted Jarr, and I adopted Earl. Both were a little evasive and didn’t like being held the few times we met them in the store, and my family was particularly worried about Earl because he was much more nervous than his brother, but I loved him too much to leave him. I knew he’d fair better with his brother around.

Upon awaiting our application to process, we made a list of every set of brothers or BFFs we could think of from fiction we like, and eventually we agreed re-naming Earl (black) as Edward, and Jarr (grey) as Alphonse, after the Elric brothers for their golden eyes. But after bringing them home and seeing how they adjust, their personalities couldn’t be more opposite to their namesakes. Al was immediately very attention-needy, mischievous and curious, claimed my bed for himself but loves to be cuddled. Ed is very shy and skittish, but an absolute purr machine if you approach him quietly and calmly. They’re both adjusting so fast and every time we wake up to find them crammed into the bed they came with, we are so happy we didn’t separate these two. Only one week with us, and a huge difference — and they’re growing so fast!

Marbo aka. Babu (formerly Marbles)

Marbo aka. Babu (formerly Marbles)

Three months have gone by since we adopted Marbles from his long stay at Petsmart Burlington. He now goes by the manly name of Marbo, and the equally manly name of Babu by my boyfriend…
Marbo is such a wonderful, handsome boy! It started out with a little hissing and a bit of swatting as he got adjusted to his new home and learned to trust us but once he was comfortable he totally took over the place! He’s ridiculously playful, LOVES scratching anything cardboard, and is crazy proud of his shoelaces he stole. Between snuggles and chin scratches, and wrestling (boy does he love wrestling), he’s become such a lovable guy. My boyfriend and I are so lucky to have been able to give our Babubabu a loving home after his rough start!!

Ziggy: A Cat Who Loves Dogs and Kids!

Ziggy is a four year old black shorthair. He is super adorable and the sweetest boy! We adopted him from Ninth Life Cat Rescue in Oakville. His best friend is our miniature dachshund puppy, Harper. They love to play and cuddle all day in the sun. He also enjoys his time with our other dog, Zoey, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. He loves to cuddle and is super friendly, even with people he hasn’t met. I don’t understand why black cats have such a stigma. He is the sweetest little boy! Thank you for rescuing him, Ninth Life Cat Rescue, you have helped complete our family!

So Happy Together!

So Happy Together!

From Molly (aka Mama) and Pippa (aka Pretty Girl): Just a note to let you know that we have been home for a week and have settled right in! Except that they won’t allow us on the kitchen counters or the dining table our new humans seem very well trained otherwise, and are taking excellent care of us. We were so comfortable when we got home that we explored our new house right away, and then settled on our new mom’s lap for a nap after an exhausting but exciting day. Thanks so much for taking care of us until we got a forever home, we are well and happy and looking forward to a nice long life with our people!
